Colectivo de Paz is a grassroots nonprofit that creates ‘Communities of Action’ through proactive advocacy and responsive services to meet the immediate and systemic needs of Metro Denver’s historically underserved communities.
Founded in 2021, CDP operates under the ‘person-centered’ and ‘community-first’ organizing methodology that combines both responsive services addressing immediate community needs and proactive programming building long-term self-advocacy capacity.
What is a ‘Community of Action’?
At Colectivo de Paz we define a ‘Community of Action’ as a community with the ability to make its vision a reality. This is an EMPOWERED community that is liberated, healthy, resource-equipped and skill-equipped. The end goal of Colectivo de Paz is to help historically marginalized peoples and families in the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood Metro Area build such equitable, self-reliant and resource-liberated communities by building power at the grassroots level.

Community Aid & Resource Exchange (C.A.R.E.)
Mutual Aid, Weekly Food Distribution, and Street Medicine
CDP’s flagship mutual aid program provides essential resources to unhoused neighbors and at-risk community members through weekly distribution drives. Operating from the Global Kitchen at the University of Denver, CARE volunteers prepare freshly-cooked hot meals and distribute them alongside hygiene kits, clothing. Read More
Urban Scholars Youth Network for Collaboration (U.S.Y.N.C.)
Peer-led Youth Leadership and Education Program
A peer-led youth empowerment program providing skill-building workshops, leadership development, and community organizing training for at-risk youth aged 15-20. USYNC teaches self-reliance, provides life skills training, and equips young people with tools for self-advocacy and community power-building. Read More

Resource Navigation and Case Management
A comprehensive case management program providing individualized support to connect at-risk community members with essential resources including housing, healthcare, legal services, employment assistance, and benefits enrollment. Read More

Grassroots Advocacy and Civic Engagement
Grassroots organizing and advocacy work at local, state, and federal levels, engaging in coalition-building and legislative advocacy around progressive policy initiatives that impact marginalized communities. Read More

Fresh food access for children and families
Partnership with Denver Community Fridges to install fresh food refrigerators in Denver and Aurora elementary schools to ensure sustainable food access for our children and families. Read More
